Coalition of the Chillin' - Media Update
Just when you thought it couldn't get any bigger, The "Coalition of the Chillin'" breaks into the mainstream media.
Both the Coalition and its founder, Mark Coffey of Decision '08, were put front-and-center on CNN's "Inside the Blogs" segment earlier today. Ryan James has a partial transcript:
CNN's "Inside the Blogs" - June 6th, 2005 JACKI SCHECHNER, BLOG REPORTER: That's a good tease, because we're going to get that out in a minute. But with the Senate back in session, we just wanted to bring this up. You may remember before the break that a lot of the blogs were up in arms over the bipartisan deal, but not all of them.
And some of the ones who refused to get all worked up over the filibuster deal called themselves the Coalition of the Chillin'. And a list of those over at decision08.blogspot.com. As Instapundit's logo puts it, they are the ones dedicated to the proposition that the world did not end on May 23rd, 2005.
I don't usually watch the segment, but just happened to be tuned in when it came on, and was pleasantly surprised. I quickly fired an email off to Mark to congratulate him, assuming he probably already knew.
Apparently not.
Congrats to Mark and the rest of the Coalition. And a big "harumph" to the Incensed Conservative and the rest of that ilk.
